					<description>This is an option extension lesson that contains six individual mini lessons related to topics in the life of José Antonio Navarro including his home at Casa Navarro, the Santa Fe Expedition, the Texas Declaration of Independence, Mexican Independence, Annexation, and Texas’s overall development through the Republic era. This lesson about José Antonio Navarro and Casa Navarro historic site was developed in partnership with the Texas Historical Commission. These lessons are meant to extend learning on topics already covered in class through the lens of Navarro’s experiences and contributions. These lessons include material relevant to the Mexican National Era, the Texas Revolution, the Republic of Texas, and annexation leading to Early Statehood.</description>
