Warm-up & Exit Ticket
In this printable warm-up / bell-ringer activity, students will consider how people today stay informed about dangerous weather conditions in Texas such as tornadoes and hurricanes. Students identify technology and systems in place to protect, alert, and support people in the event of a natural disaster. Then students consider what they think was available to people in 1900 to protect them from natural disasters.
In this exit ticket, students will read 5 statements and determine whether each statement is a cause, effect, or significance of the devastation that occurred in Galveston because of the hurricane of 1900.
The Warm-up and Exit Ticket document includes two warm-ups on the front of the page and two exit tickets on the back of the page. This formatting reduces the number of copies needed, as teachers will cut each printed page in half. Each student will receive a half-page with the warm-up on the front and the exit on the back.
