Student Activities
-
Warm-up and Exit Ticket
In this printable warm-up / bell-ringer activity, students will read a short paragraph introducing the vocabulary term “cede,” and use the context of the paragraph to come to conclusions about the word including its part of speech, its potential positive, negative, or neutral connotations, and its most likely meaning.
In this exit ticket, students will use a word bank of different terms to choose terms that are related to the major themes in our unit. They will highlight or circle these terms. Students create a short, constructed response explaining why they chose one of the terms from the word bank.
The Warm-up and Exit Ticket document includes two warm-ups on the front of the page and two exit tickets on the back of the page. This formatting reduces the number of copies needed, as teachers will cut each printed page in half. Each student will receive a half-page with the warm-up on the front and the exit on the back.
