Warm-up and Exit Ticket
In this printable warm-up / bell-ringer activity, students will read an excerpt from an interview of a German immigrant woman whose family immigrated to Texas when she was a young girl. Students use the information provided in the excerpt to draw conclusions about life in Texas during Early Statehood.
In this exit ticket, students will answer a paper-adapted version of the 8th Grade Social Studies STAAR question type called Drag and Drop, identifying three statements that are true for the developments in population growth and settlement in Texas during Early Statehood.
The Warm-up and Exit Ticket document includes two warm-ups on the front of the page and two exit tickets on the back of the page. This formatting reduces the number of copies needed, as teachers will cut each printed page in half. Each student will receive a half-page with the warm-up on the front and the exit on the back.
