Warm-up and Exit Ticket
In this printable warm-up / bell-ringer activity, students will make observations about a map showing the political borders of the Republic of Texas, Mexico, and the United States in 1836. Students formulate questions related to the map.
In this exit ticket, students will answer three short, constructed response questions explaining one challenge Texas faced in 1836, explaining one way Texas attempted to address the challenges, and making a prediction about what they think they are likely to see in the next unit: The Republic of Texas.
The Warm-up and Exit Ticket document includes two warm-ups on the front of the page and two exit tickets on the back of the page. This formatting reduces the number of copies needed, as teachers will cut each printed page in half. Each student will receive a half-page with the warm-up on the front and the exit on the back.
